Gestapo coming to San Fran?

http://www.sacbee.com/content/politics/story/14217627p-15043615c.html A judge is the only thing between a complete gun ban in San Francisco. How bad is the ban? Hollywood armorers are complaining that they won't be able to shoot movies there because they can't fire blanks. My question is: when is someone going to challenge all these laws on the grounds they violate the 2nd Amendment? Just wondering.

No DSL: Day 11. I don't know who I hate more AT T or earthlink. Earthlink has given me two activation dates and lied both times.

No DSL: Week 2 It's getting to the point where I cringe everytime I see an AT&T commercial. I think I hate them as much as Allstsate Insurance.

I think I'm suffering from DSL withdrawl. It won't be on for more 4 days and I don't know if I'm gonna make it. Damn AT&T for jacking my rates!!

No DSL: Day 3

OK, Earthlink and I have not got off to a good start. While my equipment came today, they still haven't activated the line. I swear they're taunting me because I detect the DSL signal, but that's not enough. It better be up by tomorrow or I'm gonna tear someone a new one.

Earthlink DSL Modem is here! But the service is not activated. They say it will be up by midnight tonite. I'll be checking.....

Libertarianism in action: This BMX park was built by kids, by themselves, for free. When government does not interefere, people can create great things.

No DSL: Day 2

I'm still holding up, but everytime I go to my computer, I still launch Mozilla expecting my Google News to come up. I think I am addicted to the Internet. Thank the maker for the Treo which is keeping me connected to the world in this time of crisis. I'd like to take this oppurtunity to further rip Ameritech/SBC/AT&T for deciding to jack up my rates by 30 dollars a month. Seriously, did they think I was just going to sit here and take that? When I can get faster service for less money from Earthlink? The telecoms better get with the program. There is a lot of choice out there and with Wi-Max just arounf the corner, there's going to be a lot more. The days of perpetually ripping us off are quickly coming to an end, and to that I say it's about freaking time.

Internet withdrawl! Day one: Going well so far, but I still miss it something fierce. The Treo helps, but I need my broadband back ASAP.

Opening Ceremonies

Whoever conjured up these Opening Ceremonies for the Twentieth Winter Olympiad must have been under the influence of drugs. The visuals are very trippy, to say the least. How they get so many people to wear these crazy costumes is beyond me. Normally I'd never watch what is essentially an opera, but I almost feel obligated to watch since this happens only once every four years.

It's time for my Sprint PCS rant. I'm tired of the crappy signal in Frankfort. If they don't get a tower out here soon, I'm gonna switch.

Second Amendment Alert

Caught this via one of my Google Alerts: Two gun ban laws are working thier way through the People's Republic of Illinois Assembly. These laws, if enacted, will basically end legal gun ownership in the State of Illinois. While I hate both Republicans and Democrats, there's no question that this could only happen in a Democrat dominated state. This is what happens when you have one party rule: The inevitable slide toward dictatorship. Illinois voter need to wake up and see what's happening before they move on to squelch other parts of the Bill of Rights.

Stop the slaughter of the National Anthem!

I'm sorry, but if I watch one more rendition of the national anthem like that, I'll hurl. Either get the military to preform it, or quit doing it. It's an embarasment.

funny twist on eminent domain decision

I came across this article at http://apnews.myway.com/article/20060204/D8FIIUM80.html I think it's great that people are trying to turn this horrible Supreme Court decision back on the authors that wrote it. In this case, residents of New Hamshire are targeting David Souter and his farmhouse. While the group was unsuccessful, I admire their spirit. I would like for Supreme Court Jusctices to be accountable for the decisions they make.

EV-DO for Sprint?

I'm hoping that when the Treo 700p comes out later this year, it will be EV-DO capable on Sprint's network. If Sprint doesn't carry it, I will probably switch. I need a faster connection so I can download tunes. The arbitrary 2 MB limit is pretty annoying, although it's fine for E-books. I'll post back when I find out.

Cindy Sheehan and I have something in common

So it turns out that Cindy Sheehan was evicted from the House chamber for wearing a T-shirt. That brought back memories of me seeing President Clinton with my "Impeach Clinton and her husband too" t shirt back in 1994. While I wasn't arrested, I was forced to turn my shirt inside out. I didn't particularly care for censorship and I don't care for it now. I may disagree with Ms. Sheehan on many things, but I'll defend her right to wear a T-shirt.
