We could not complete your iTunes Store request

I imagine this is going up on screens all over the planet and I know just one thing: I'm glad I'm not within 1000 miles of Steve Jobs at the moment....

I wish there was a way to even go back to normal so I could use my phone today.

Guys there is a way to restore your phone. Turn off your phone, once its turned off unplugg it. Then hold the menu button the one at the bottom of the screen, then plug it back in, then u can restore your phone.. although this will not give you software 2.0... damn bastards apple... i have been waiting for 2.0 for so long

Yep. Same here. Can get to the iTunes Store through iTunes, but the phone isn't syncing, and nothing can be done but emergency calls.

Oh, and the Apple Discussion Forums is now displaying, "Be Back Soon"

This is a great tip about the restore - I knew there must be something like that! Thanks a ton.

Seriously guys? Seriously? You're really so impatient you can't wait a few hours for a device that no one in the world has even used before? You're willing to pay $299 for a device that you will own for at least 2 years...only if it works within the first hour you get it.

It will work fine, just have a friggin drop of patience...

To Justin Schroeder:

Why does Apple get a free pass? If you purchased the phone, charged it, installed the required software and still several hours later can't use it (EVEN through AT&T has even created your account in the MTSO).

If this was a Nokia or Motorola cell, their would not be any leniency in the press nor blogs.

In the interest of full disclosure I am an iPhone 1.0 owner who does find the device very usable. However it seems dumb to have to "activate" it each time I update the software. Why can't they just store the activation data some place that doesn't get erased? I don't have to activate my TiVo everytime the software is updated....
